One of the most anticipated game of 2019 is the newly announced Mortal Kombat 11 that has many people hyped up after the release of its trailer at The Game Awards back in December. The Mortal Kombat franchise has been making games since 1992 and quickly gained the reputation as one the best fighting gaming series along with other notable franchises like Street Fighter and Tekken. Mortal Kombat 11 release date will be on April 23rd. Last week the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, tweeted out the official cover art for the game. The cover showcases a popular character, Scorpion, and received an overall positive feedback from the Mortal Kombat community.
So far only 3 characters have been revealed to be on the roster, Raiden, Scorpion and Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn will be an unlockable character pre-order bonus. Fans should expect the full roster revelation on January 17th at an event in London held by NetherRealm Studios. The event will reveal the full roster, gameplay and the plot. Rumors have it that the Mortal Kombat team at the event will announce that WWE superstar former UFC champion Ronda Rousey will Play Sonya Blade so that is something to keep our eyes on.
The last Mortal Kombat game was released in 2015 with a positive reception. The game was a top seller for ps4 in the month of April and won the award for the 2015 best fighting game. Expect the same results with Mortal Kombat 11 due to the fact that Mortal Kombat games usually disappoint and always try to not rush development so they can produce a well liked game that fans have enjoyed over the years.
